First riddle: "Macbeth! Macbeth! Macbeth! beware Macduff; Beware the thane of Fife. Dismiss me. Enough."(IV.i.71-72)

In the first riddle the witches are warning Macbeth to beware of Macduff.  The witches are warning him that not only is Macduff going to harm him, he will also be the one to overthrow him. In this picture, I am trying to show Macbeth with the three witches, and one of them “dismissing” him.  He has gone to them for his prophecy so he will know what dangers are ahead of him in the future. I thought that this riddle was interesting because it shows just how desperate Macbeth is to keep his throne and his crown. At first, I had no idea what they were trying to say, but then I realized that they were warning Macbeth that revenge was coming his way.

Second riddle: "Be bloody, bold, and resolute; laugh to scorn The power of man, for none of woman born Shall harm Macbeth. " (IV.i.79-81)

In the second riddle the three witches are telling Macbeth that he must be violent, bold and unpredictable. Macbeth also needs to be strong and full of power than the other men. His power needs to be above all the others born by natural childbirth. Macbeth can fight with many soldiers which are coming towards him from the forest, all armed. At first, I did not understand this riddle but after several hours of reading, I understand what it means. It shows me how strong the King must be if he wants to keep his throne for a long time and he must be aware of everyone.

Third riddle: "Be lion-mettled, proud; and take no care Who chafes, who frets, or where conspirers are: Macbeth shall never vanquish'd be until Great Birnam wood to high Dunsinane hill Shall come against him." (IV.i.90-94)
`

In the last riddle the witches say to Macbeth that he needs to be brave and powerful like a lion. He doesn’t need to worry about how many people hate him or how many can conspire against him. Also the witches tell Macbeth that he will never be defeated until Birnam wood marches against him at Dunsinane Hill. In my opinion Macbeth is being told to be a lion, King of the jungle. It symbolizes being a ruler, bravery, and not easily defeated.
